about
Welcome to The Institute for Collaboration and Play!
Both a very serious enterprise and a really fun time, The Institute for Collaboration and Play purports to serve as an umbrella for ideas and experiments related to collaboration and play for artists and citizens.
IFCAP is virtual and nomadic think/action tank, whose thoughts/actions come from the following questions:
What defines Play?
What defines Collaboration?
What are the conditions under which collaboration works?
What is a working collaboration?
How do we collaborate?
How do we play?
How do these aspects inform creative practice, contemporary art and performance, and life?
What are the qualities that, when present, give creative practice, contemporary art and performance, and life, that unmistakable sense of Aliveness?
This website shall serve as a holding area for our collected thoughts, actions, activities and experiments, as we map the face, trace the place and make space in the space for collaboration and play. Let us discover, determine, discuss, celebrate and explore collaboration and play as they relate to creative practice, contemporary art and performance, and life.
IFCAP research includes but is not limited to the following:
