artist action thinking partners
Formed in response to the following questions:
What is the role of Artist in the world? How do we experience support and expansion? How can we support our individual and shared expansion? What structures reinforce awareness of art-making as a social-process and art as a gift-exchange?
IFCAP seeks to establish a community of Artist Action Thinking Partners, like-minded individuals engaged in a similar process of discernment about place, purpose and personage. How do we balance momentum and reflection? How might we holistically thrive in a product-oriented environment? How do connection, ritual and sustained practice support such thriving?
AATP gatherings are a bit like revival meetings – a somewhat ritualistic experience that inspires, restores and rejuvenates, as we (re)embark on this inquiry together. Each person in attendance is asked to bring an offering of sustenance to share, such as poems, prints, performance, mindful provocation, wine, cheese or chocolate. Being in the presence of others is, to us, one of the most valuable ways to reestablish the whole to which we all always belong.
