IFCAP RAW RESIDENCY
WHAT is the RAW RESIDENCY?
In 2018 IFCAP launched the RAW RESIDENCY, an opportunity for artists making work through the lens of collaboration and play to bring projects in development to The Parlour. RAW RESIDENCY Artists will receive 1-4 weeks of partially subsidized time in The Parlour to develop their work. Public showings or performances are welcome as part of your residency experience.
WHY the RAW RESIDENCY?
We are interested in collaboration and play and all their delightful, complicated tenets and precepts.
We explore the intricate exchange between process and product and the inevitable intertwining of the two.
We aim to expose and thwart the false dichotomies that abound in artmaking, the either/ors and this/thats that keep us from impactful experimentation and artistic generosity.
We want to support other artists who are making what they may not yet fully understand but know the questions that drive the making are deeply grounded in practice and purpose.
We are interested in art that considers its audience as necessary for dialogic exchange, offering a gift-giving retreat from assertive audience badgering, a thrilling but mindful meeting.
Perhaps your art involves sharing your latest ukulele musings in a quiet venue while also baking cakes and pies? Now you needn’t separate the two.
Perhaps you seek a solid, open space in which to continue to deconstruct the nature of Physical Theater and Audience Engagement? There is room for a hearty game of tag.
Perhaps you desire a place in which to display the intricately crafted objects you assemble from lost items found on beaches, street corners and in the backs of closets? And you ask us to bring our objects to add to the conversation. Look no further!

IFCAP is committed to providing unlimited access to The Parlour for the participating RAW RESIDENCY Artists during their residency.
Residency pricing is project specific, within a range of $1750-2500 per week, depending on size and scope of project proposal.
IFCAP is open to artists programming within their residency opportunities to offset cost, including workshops and ticketed performances.
